For this image, I took the sunglasses out of another picture and pasted it into the new image. I liked the waves crashing in the background with the sunglasses in front, it gave a different perspective and a "larger" foreground area, breaking the image into layers. It was difficult to select only certain parts of images and to copy and paste them accordingly.
For this image, I took the vera wang bottle out of an image and created a first layer background, with solid black. I had to play around with moving around the layers to get it to fit properly on top. I also had to select and clear out the tiny parts on the crown and then fill them in with black so it had the same background. I liked the black as the background here I felt it gave the image a stronger effect overall.

ReplyDeleteIt definitely looks like you put a bit of work into both photos. The detail in the perfume bottle cap is great. The colors of the two photos that you merged really work great together. I like the reflection in the glasses lens as well. Did you end up using Gimp or Photoshop?
ReplyDeleteAWESOME use of your select tools this week Garrison, I'm mightily impressed at your care with cleaning up your selection edges as well as your placement of the images in the photo format. You have a good eye for composition and your attention to detail is superb. The glasses in the foreground is my favorite, it adds so much to that beach scene especially with the person reflected in the glass lens, nifty idea, really tells a story.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I really like yours! You can tell you put a lot of work into these! The sunglasses with the water behind it is my favorite one, you can really see the depth of the photo. Did you use Gimp or Photoshop? Either way, they're both great! Good job :D
ReplyDeletethank you everyone! I am so glad you enjoyed these photos, I was hesitant with them at first and got frustrated moving parts of images around but ended up liking the end results. I used GIMP for both of these, it was my first time with this software before. I have a lot of learning around it to go, there are so many tools and options!
ReplyDeleteGarrison, these images are amazing! I absolutely love the first image with the sunglasses in the foreground. I can tell you've put in a lot of work into this, and yet I would've never been able to tell if that wasn't a real photo( not a combination of two). I love the whole composition, the colors and where you chose to place the glasses. The picture definitely tells a story.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your work! Amazing!
