This first two photos are ones that I have previously taken. They are both taken in Bariloche, Argentina, during the summer (their winter). I love the lighting on both of them and I really like the fog and the mountains above the clouds in the second one. The other photos are taken along the seacoast in New Hampshire. I stopped at several different spots to try to capture different angles and images of the seacoast. This is mainly the Rye and North Hampton area. They were also taking later in the day,, when the sun was coming down, which gave me a variety of lighting options. For these images I played around with my camera a lot and took into consideration the elements we have been learning about, such as framing, using flash, lighting and ISO levels.
These seaside photos are amazing. The first one is definitely my favorite. I think the reflection of the sun off the water really makes it unique. The second winter landscape photo is also great. The color, shadowing, and landscape make it a once in a lifetime photo. It's as if there are three layers to this photo. The place where you're standing which includes the cloud would be the first layer, followed by the intermediate and far mountain ranges.
ReplyDelete4th photo down and last photo are probably my faves with the seaside photos. The 4th one has so many great elements, curved leading lines, the rocks in rule of thirds area, the beautiful colors, but the horizon is almost dead center. I think the rocks and contour of the tide help that not be so much of an issue, but if you'd placed your horizon in the bottom third or top third I think it would have improved your shot (you might try that next week when we begin photo-manipulation). The Last photo again has a centered horizon, oops, but the rest of it is gorgeous. The light, color, framing, repeated lines of the water, all add up to making it stunning. By altering the horizon to 1/3 or 2/3 position in this one you could also improve it greatly.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are amazing. I noticed the position of the horizon as well, which is similar in most photos but I think this makes the post that much stronger. It provides a unity in the post overall, but the pictures are quite different. They all include great detail, vibrant colors and interesting details. The lines included in them are placed wonderfully and although some of these break some rules of photography I think they are stronger because of that. There are a lot of shapes and elements in all of these pictures that make them very interesting to look at.
ReplyDeleteWow - I'm very impressed with your scenic shots. My favorite one is the 2nd one that features the cold winter snow with crisp blue sky and clouds that almost jump out of the picture. Nice work. Tammy
ReplyDeleteGarrison you impress me every single week with your work. It is amazing. I can definitely tell how much you enjoy taking pictures of seaside. I love the greys and the blues color schemes in you seacoast shots. You can almost feel the texture of the rocks. My favorite one would be the 5th one down, very interesting shot!
ReplyDeleteyour photos are amazing, I really like the one with the snow and the blue sky, I don't want it to be cold and snowy here but I want it so I can take some photos of it! I also really like the 4th one down with the rocks and the water, these always make great photos. Nice Job!
ReplyDeletethe second picture down is my favorite, its very clear and the photo is very deep. the clouds really make the photo pop!
