Filter Photos

I added sparkle and one of the Lighting effects filters here. I adjusted the lighting filters effect in the upper left corner of the image I felt it made it look like the sun radiating and shining on the sand. I kelt the radiating color similar to the blue from the water as well to keep balance in the photo.  I then added in the sparkle, I felt it blended nicely with the sea glass and sand. It have the image a "magical" look! I had to play around with many filters for each of these photos before I got ones that I really liked and worked well with the photos. Overall, I am pleased with how the photos came out, my favorite it the second one with the picture of me and one of the kids I nanny for.

For this image I cropped the photos and then added the cartoon filter to it. I played around with the adjustments here to balance the black an cartoon effect. I liked how the filter added black and casted shadows throughout the image. I then added another lighting effects filter. I had to move around and play with the options to get the light shining in the center, radiating the shape it is and adjusted the colors. I felt it looked like the sun shining in the background adding a nice glow to the image overall .

I added a third photo os an image I added a filter too. I really liked the image it self and wanted to play around with it. It took me a while to find a filter I liked on this one. I ended up using the canvas filter. I liked the artistic edge it gave the image. It really made it look like it was actually on a canvas and slightly painted.

Light & Color

I went to the beach again this week to take pictures. I tried capturing images different than previous weeks. The images above are the edited images. I played around with the curve, along with each color separately. I mostly tweaked the reds and blues. I tried playing around with other images as well and did have some trouble figuring out what exactly to tweak and change with lighting and color. I am happy with how the two photos above came out, I used the rule of thirds on the bottoms one, with the sign  and really like how the black reflects on the purple and orange sky.

Editing

For this image, I took the sunglasses out of another picture and pasted it into the new image. I liked the waves crashing in the background with the sunglasses in front, it gave a different perspective and a "larger" foreground area, breaking the image into layers. It was difficult to select only certain parts of images and to copy and paste them accordingly.

For this image, I took the vera wang bottle out of an image and created a first layer background, with solid black. I had to play around with moving around the layers to get it to fit properly on top. I also had to select and clear out the tiny parts on the crown and then fill them in with black so it had the same background. I liked the black as the background here I felt it gave the image a stronger effect overall.

This first two photos are ones that I have previously taken. They are both taken in Bariloche, Argentina, during the summer (their winter). I love the lighting on both of them and I really like the fog and the mountains above the clouds in the second one. The other photos are taken along the seacoast in New Hampshire. I stopped at several different spots to try to capture different angles and images of the seacoast. This is mainly the Rye and North Hampton area. They were also taking later in the day,, when the sun was coming down, which gave me a variety of lighting options. For these images I played around with my camera a lot and took into consideration the elements we have been learning about, such as framing, using flash, lighting and ISO levels.

Framing Photos

I found this assignment kind of challenging. I really wanted to think outside the box again and not just put an object in front of a frame (even though I do like that look!). I tried to incorporate mostly nature and people into my photos this week. The photos are taken from Vermont all the way to the seacoast of New Hampshire. I tried to take advantage of any opportunity I could to take a photo this past week.

For this assignment I did take countless photos. I played around with flash, composition and points of view for each photo. I also gave changing the ISO a shot on a couple of them, I did find how it makes a difference dependent on lighting.
